Disk Drive

The disc drive is where CDs and DVDs are inserted so the computer can access the data they contain. On the PCs they are a tray that slides out of the side of the computer whereas on the Mac they are just a thin slot on the side of the machine. Some laptops do not have disc drives, in which case External Optical DVD CD Drives are an option for users wanting to access data on a CD or DVD.
