How to Make a Website (DW)/Step 3 - Basic Page Design (HTML)/Library Items

From WSU Technology Knowledge Base

Library Items are page elements that can be edited independently and saved to be used in other web pages. For example, a menu or a banner can be saved as a library item and then placed on any given page for consistent repetition.

Creating a Library Item

Library Items are special pages or objects which are created from blank Dreamweaver pages.

Use the menu File>New to open the dialog and choose Library Item from a Blank Page option.

The open page can then be edited just like an HTML page.

However, it has the special property of being able to be "embedded" inside an HTML page, like any other object.

Changes to the original Library Item will be automatically updated to the HTML page in which it is embedded.
