A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a data storage devise. Solid state drives are especially fast, especially compared to regular hard drives, because they have no moving parts, which enables them to access stored files much quicker. Both the current models of the laptops, Macbook Air and the HP EliteBook 840, have 120 gigabyte SSDs.
