About this article

This article provides instructions for using your MediaSpace recordings in your Brightspace courses. It is intended for all WSU students and employees.

Sharing links to media

If you publish your files as Unlisted, you can provide anyone, even someone without a MediaSpace account on our system, with the link to the file. This URL can be used and shared as you would any other link, inside or outside Brightspace. To copy the link to your file:

  1. Log into MediaSpace at https://mediaspace.mnscu.edu with your StarID username and password. This will take you to your My Media page.
  2. Select the recording you want to share. This will take you to that recording's media page.
  3. Select the Share button and then select Link to Media Page
  4. Copy the URL listed (Fig 1)

Embedding MediaSpace videos in D2L

The process of embedding your media into D2L Brightspace can all be done now within the course. Students are able to now post videos in Discussion Boards or as a part of an Assignment submission. Many faculty find it helpful to embedding media in Announcements, Content, Discussion Boards, Assessments, and even to provide feedback on a Grade Item. The process of embedding any media is the same and can be conducted by following the steps below anywhere you find the Insert Stuff button in D2L.
