Overview

Adobe Dreamweaver (formerly Macromedia Dreamweaver) is a web development application originally created by Macromedia, and is now developed by Adobe Systems, which acquired Macromedia in 2005.

Dreamweaver is available for both Mac and Windows operating systems. Recent versions have incorporated support for web technologies such as CSS, Javascript, and various server-side scripting languages and frameworks including ASP, ColdFusion, and PHP.

Adobe Dreamweaver allows users to use a hybrid of web languages and visual design to create and modify websites.

WARNING: If you have more than one website stored on your studentwebs each website MUST be in it's own folder.

How to Make a Website (DW)

Our step-by-step guidelines for "How to Make a Website (DW)"

These are standardized instructions for making a Portfolio website, but the method can be applied to other web site designs, using Dreamweaver.

In addition to Dreamweaver, these instructions call for the use of Adobe Bridge, Fireworks and Photoshop for the development of some of the scripts and web elements (e.g., image files) used in creation of this web site. Bridge is automatically included with any Adobe product. Fireworks and Photoshop will need to be installed separately from Dreamweaver.
