What is AirWatch?
AirWatch is a mobile application that provides
- mobile security
- mobile application management
- mobile email management
- mobile device management
- mobile content management
Why is Winona State Having Student Setup AirWatch?
Using AirWatch WSU is able to:
- push paid apps for free to your ipad
- automatically setup your email, contacts, calendars, etc
- track the device if it is lost or stolen - we will not track it at any other time
- remove apps when you are finished with them in class so you will save space on your iPad
- push WSU security settings and block/blacklist known malicious apps
- AirWatch fulfills campus requirement for management of mobile devices
- Blacklist apps = only the ones that would infect your device/compromise your device
- WSU has no plan to block the installation of any legitimate apps
How Do I Enroll in AirWatch on my iPad?
- Open Safari
- Type in "awenroll.winona.edu"
- Enter your WSU credentials
- Choose "Install" to Install Profile"
- Choose "Install Now" on the pop up window
- Hit "Install Now" on the warning screen
- Hit "Done" when it says Profile Installed
- Press "HOME" button on bottom of iPad
- Press "Continue" on the Passcode Requirement popup
- Set Passcode with 4 or more characters - can be all numerical
- Enter passcode once, hit continue
- Enter passcode a second time to confirm, choose "Save"
- You will see a WSU Apps icon on the Ipad second home screen
