Digital Citizenship (using technology appropriately) is a concept which helps teachers, technology leaders and parents to understand what students/children/technology users should know to use technology appropriately. Digital citizenship is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use.

- Advocates for digital access for all
- Treats others with respect online
- Does not steal digital property
- Understands appropriate use
- Employs digital learning strategies for independent learning
- Protects payment information during online shopping
- Honors rights of others in all online forums
- Respects all digital citizens’ privacy
- Avoids addictive digital behavior
