WSU instructors using Brightspace or those interested in using Brightspace in the future.

Overview

This page shows how to remove a News Item on your Brightspace course homepage.

Dismissing a News Item

News Items age and become irrelevant over time. If the list of News Items in a course gets too long or just needs some clean-up, individual items can be removed from the published list.

You can remove a News Item from the home page by clicking the X to the right of the News Item headline in the News Widget. (See below.)

Alternatively, you can remove a News Item from the home page by following these steps:

  1. Click the arrow next to News in the News Widget and select Go to News Tool. (See right.)
  2. Click the arrow next to the headline of the News Item to be dismissed and select Dismiss from widget to retain the News Item in the News Tool but remove it from the home page or Delete to remove the News Item completely.
