Overview of Project

This session is designed to provide an introduction to the Turnitin software found within the Assignment Submission Folders of D2L BrightSpace. Specifically, we will address the following areas:

  • Submitting Papers to Assignment Submission Folders and accessing feedback.
  • Launching and configuring Turnitin Feedback Studio
  • Interpreting the Turnitin Similarity Report
  • Interpreting the ETS E-rater Grammar Results
  • Downloading Turnitin Results

What We Will Cover

In our time together we will cover the following four steps to submit papers in the D2L BrightSpace Assignments Submission Folders. Below each step you will find additional resources and videos to how this process works if you missed our session together.

Step 1 Submitting Papers to Assignment Submission Folders and accessing feedback.

The following video (see here) we walk you through the process of submitting documents to an Assignment Submission Folder, access the Similarity Score, and launch the Turnitin tool.

Step 2 Launching and configuring Turnitin Feedback Studio

In the video Using the Feedback Studio you will learn all about the way the tool can be configured for best viewing on your preferred device, how to activate and use the different tools, and download the report for revisions.

Step 3 Interpreting the Turnitin Similarity Report

In the articles Viewing the Similarity Report and Interpreting the Similarity Report from Turnitin you will learn all about the process of interpreting the scores and feedback provided by the system and your instructor.

Step 4 Interpreting the ETS e-rater® Grammar Results

In this guide from Turnitin e-rater® Grammar Check Technology you will learn about about how the tool checks grammar, usage, mechanics, style, and spelling.
