Class Location, Days and Times

  • Memorial 209
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00 pm - 3:20 pm

Outline of Project

The Foundations of Tourism class must do an assignment entitled “Packaging Winona.” They choose an activity such as golfing, cultural heritage, wine etc and then put together a three day tourism package that includes the attractions, maps, hotels, restaurants and secondary activities. It then gets a voice over that explains each slide. Adobe Presenter may be the way to go with voice over.

These PPs will then be burned to a CD (still photos) and sent to the Winona Convention and Visitors Bureau to see if some of them are good enough for distribution.

There is a mixture of PC and Macs in this class.

To include:

  • adding images
  • voice over
  • music background
  • animations
  • choosing a template
  • kiss
  • saving to a DVD
  • possibly Adobe Presenter - need to check licensing

STAR's Comments

The demonstration went rather well. The students asked lots of great questions such as whether or not is was possible to edit a slide after a voice over was done, etc. To my knowledge, no students came in to Tech Support for additional help after the presentation. This, to me, implies that I did a sufficient job answering their questions and instructing how to do perform the tasks required by the instructor.
