'''Microsoft OneDrive''' is an online file storage and sharing service, a major component of Minnesota State's Microsoft 365 system-wide license. All WSU students and employees have 1 TB of online storage space that can be used to save and share files for school and work purposes. Because your files are saved online (i.e., in the "cloud"), you can access them using multiple devices and they are secure should anything happen to any of your devices. OneDrive is integrated with other Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Word, Teams).

If you enrolled at WSU later than 2013, you will need to create your own Microsoft Account to use Skydrive. To create a personal Microsoft account go to outlook.com and follow the steps to creating an account.

The rapid emergence of secure, reliable online file storage services has changed how universities support the work of students, faculty, and staff. Rather than encouraging people to save their files to laptop hard drives or external storage drives (e.g., thumb drives) that are more costly, more prone to failure, and less secure, business-class cloud storage is much safer, less expensive, and easier to manage.

*Select the Sync a Folder link, find the folder on your laptop that you would like to synchronize with your SkyDrive, and select it. From now on, whatever you save inside that folder will be copied into your SkyDrive. It can be accessed from the web and you can install Windows Live Mesh on any other computer that you own, designate a local folder and synchronize it with the SkyDrive folder you just created. That would create three copies of the content in that folder: one on your original laptop, one online in your SkyDrive, and one on your second computer.

Microsoft OneDrive is an online file storage and sharing service, a major component of Minnesota State's Microsoft 365 system-wide license.

Why use OneDrive?

The rapid emergence of secure, reliable online file storage services has changed how universities support the work of students, faculty, and staff. Rather than encouraging people to save their files to laptop hard drives or external storage drives (e.g., thumb drives) that are more costly, more prone to failure, and less secure, business-class cloud storage is much safer, less expensive, and easier to manage.
