Accessing SkyDrive
If you enrolled at WSU before 2013 and created a SkyDrive account, you can access your SkyDrive with your WSU username & password at sky.winona.edu
If you enrolled at WSU later than 2013, you will need to create your own Microsoft Account to use SkyDrive. To create a personal Microsoft account go to skydrive and follow the steps to creating an account.
SkyDrive: What Is It?
Microsoft SkyDrive is a password-protected hard drive out in the cloud. You can use it to store thousands of files and can get to them anytime you’re online and can access them from virtually any device.

How Do You Save Files To Your SkyDrive?
There are a few ways to save files to your SkyDrive account.
- Upload files
- Use Microsoft Office Web Apps
- Share and Collaborate
- Also note that there is a 50 MB maximum single file size. You cannot upload a file that is larger than 50 MB to your SkyDrive.
- Select the Sync a Folder link, find the folder on your laptop that you would like to synchronize with your SkyDrive, and select it. From now on, whatever you save inside that folder will be copied into your SkyDrive. It can be accessed from the web and you can install Windows Live Mesh on any other computer that you own, designate a local folder and synchronize it with the SkyDrive folder you just created. That would create three copies of the content in that folder: one on your original laptop, one online in your SkyDrive, and one on your second computer.
- IF you are interested in making syncing a little easier there is a third party program called SkyShellEx Utility that makes this process easy!
- Download the SkyShellEx Utility
- The file will download as a .zip file. Make sure to extract/unzip the file!
- Go through the Install Wizard.
- Once finished when you right+click on a folder a drop down list will appear with an option stating: "Sync to Skydrive".
- Select that option and that folder will now be synced with your Skydrive.
- There are other possible avenues to sync your Skydrive without third party programs. Further down this webpage gives you options.
