Important Changes

Only students who have previously setup a Microsoft Services Live ID Password will be able to utilize these instructions. Due to the recent change to Outlook 365, new incoming students, or those who have difficulty with the processes in this guide, should follow the directions for Apple iOS Email Setup.

First Things First (Student Accounts Only)

In order to set up your student email on your iDevice, you need to create/reset your Microsoft Live password. If you already use live.com to access your student email, you may have already reset this password. Otherwise, go to the following article for instructions:

Microsoft Services Live ID Password

Setting Up Your iPhone/iPad/iPod (For All Users-Students, Faculty and Staff)

  • Please make sure that your iPhone/iPad/iPod software is up to date. You can use iTunes to update if necessary, or on your device you can go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  • In Safari, navigate to www.winona.edu/iPhone on your device.

  • Select "Install Student Profile"

  • Select "Install"

  • Enter your Winona State user name, and hit "Next"

  • Enter your Winona State password, and hit "Next"

  • Enter your full Winona State email address, and hit "Next"
    • REMEMBER: If you do not have your Microsoft Live ID set up (as indicated before) this may not work.
    • Make sure that you go to Microsoft Services Live ID Password to set up your Live ID password. If you've already done this or use live.com to log into your email, you may continue.

  • Enter your full Winona State email address again, and hit "Next"

  • Enter your Microsoft Live password, and hit "Next
    • IMPORTANT: This password MUST be your Live password

  • Select "Done"

  • Open the Mail App located at the bottom of the screen to check that your email works properly.
