Your Minnesota State '''StarID''' is the unique identifier you use to access all Minnesota State resources and services. Your StarID is two letters, four numbers, and two letters (e.g. ab1234cd). Once activated, you use your StarID or a simple variation of it (e.g., StarID@minnstate.edu, StarID@go.minnstate.edu) as your username and a password of your choosing to access any campus or system resource or service that requires authentication. you activate it, you can use your StarID and password anywhere that accepts StarID. Instead of a separate login at each college or university, you can use the same StarID across Minnesota State. Change your password in one place — starid.minnstate.edu — and it will change everywhere.

Your Minnesota State StarID is the unique identifier you use to access all Minnesota State resources and services. Your StarID is two letters, four numbers, and two letters (e.g. ab1234cd). Once activated, you use your StarID or a simple variation of it (e.g., StarID@minnstate.edu, StarID@go.minnstate.edu) as your username, along with a password of your choosing, to access any campus or system resource or service that requires authentication. The same StarID will remain associated with you as long as you are student or employee of any institution in the system.

What's a StarID?

Your Minnesota State StarID is a unique username and password that you use to login to Minnesota State and WSU network resources. Every WSU student,faculty and staff member need to know their Minnesota State StarID.

Activating Your StarID

All Minnesota State faculty and staff already have a StarID, but it needs to be activated before it can be used. To activate your StarID you can go here. Also, please note the following resources for the StarID.

Changing your StarID password

You will get reminder emails that your Star ID password with expire 21 days, 7 days and 1 day before it actually happens.Please change it BEFORE it expires. Check Microsoft Clutter in your Microsoft Outlook email for these messages.
