Overview

This article provides step by step directions for uploading video to MediaSpace and embedding video into D2L. This article is split into two separate sections.

Uploading and Sharing Media from Kaltura MediaSpace

Follow the steps below to upload a video into your MediaSpace

Upload Media

Go to http://mediaspace.mnscu.edu. Login in with your Star ID and password.

1. In the upper right corner of your MediaSpace next to your name select the "Add New" button. Then select the "Media Upload" option from the drop-down.

2. On the next screen select the blue button labeled "Choose a file to upload". You will then be prompted browse for a video from your computer.

3. Once you have selected your video it will begin to upload. At the top of the screen you can see the progress of the upload. This bar will turn green when the upload is complete. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the media.

4. Once your video is uploaded at the bottom of the page check the "Unlisted" option

5. Select "Save"

6. Select "Go To Media"

Sharing Media

1. Select the "Share" button just below your video.

2. Then select "Embed".

3. Copy the embed code. This is the string of text that appears in the text box below the "Embed" button.

4. Make sure the largest player size (608x430) is selected. If this option was not selected you will have to re-copy the embed code.

Embedding Kultura MediaSpace Media in D2L

Follow the steps below to embed a video into your D2L course

Embedding Video

Log into D2L and select the course you would like to add your video to. Then select the Module you would like to add your video to.

1. Select "New" and select "Video or Audio" from the drop-down.

2. Paste the embed code into the text box under the "Web Video or Audio" option.

3. Title your video

4. Select "Save"
