By default WordPress creates the front page, or home page, to show all your posts, or blog entries. This is great if your site's primary purpose is to serve as a blog, however some users don't want to see the automatically generated list of most recent posts as the first thing they see on their website. This would call for a static front page, which is a customized page that displays static content as your front page.

Making your WordPress site static, not a blog

In left menu, click on Settings > Reading.

Click on "A static page".

For Front page select "Home".

Leave Posts page as it is with nothing selected.

Leave everything else as it is and click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Now if you click on the name of your site at the top of the page, you will be taken to the web view of your site as it is now. Your home page has been created.
