Data is the information that is stored within the hard drive of the computers. When one's work is saved in any file, data is created. Underneath all of the information and images shown from computers is the code that makes up all of it. It's called binary code and it's written in ones and zeros known as bits. These bits are stringed together to make larger pieces of data (example: bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes). A computer processes and translates code to create what the user sees on the computer screen.
