The WSU eCampus cohort is a designation given to students who are taking courses online exclusively during an academic term, either while enrolled in an online program, pursuing an Individualized Studies degree online, or otherwise requiring online enrollment for an entire term. Membership in the eCampus cohort provides priority registration to online sections designated as eCampus.

Overview

WSU is committed to better serving our non-residential student population, including those completing their degrees online. In fall 2023, the administration accepted a proposal endorsed by the Faculty Association to help address this issue. The procedures involve creating a new “eCampus” cohort for students and then restricting enrollment in some course sections to members of this cohort. Here’s how it works:

  1. The Warrior Hub has already created an “eCampus” student cohort category.
  2. Academic advisors can populate this eCampus cohort with specific student names.
  3. Through the TCF, departments can require eCampus cohort membership as a course section registration restriction.
  4. When the eCampus cohort registration is added to a course section, it will have some version of this Note in the eServices listing, “Restricted to students in the eCampus cohort,” and waitlists will be turned on automatically.
  5. Departments can ask the Warrior Hub to remove this restriction later to backfill the section.
  6. This system will go into effect for course sections in the Fall 2024 schedule.

Course restriction

The TCF now has a new field that allows for the designation of a course section as

For most course sections, you should always select “No Change.” The “Add” and “Remove” buttons are there for letting Warrior Hub know if these restrictions should be, well, added or removed for a particular section that was created to serve this student population. Note that at present the form cannot indicate the current status of an eCampus designation for an existing section, i.e. it cannot draw live data from ISRS for this field.
