Adding Videos and Images in Brightspace Content

WSU instructors using Brightspace or those interested in using this instructional management system in the future.

Overview

Videos and images can be powerful tools in purveying ideas and knowledge. Adding your content or a news item is a simple task.

Embedding YouTube and other videos

If you are adding a YouTube video, the embed code can be copied by following these steps:

1. Find the YouTube video you want to use.
2. Click the Share button directly below the video.
3. The link to the YouTube video is displayed. Do not use this link, instead, click the Embed button to the right of the link.
4. Copy the displayed embed code.
5. Insert (paste) the code into Brightspace using the Upload/Create option, then Video or Audio.
6. A preview will appear as well as a title (change as needed).
7. Click Save.

Adding videos and images to HTML Editor

• Go to the HTML Editor where you wish to add the video or media file.
• Click the Insert Stuff icon.
• Select:
  • My Computer to add a saved video or image from your computer.
  • Kaltura Media to add a video from MediaSpace.
  • Course Offering Files to add a previously saved video or image.
  • Insert Link to paste a link.
  • Enter Embed Code to paste a code
  • Films on Demand for a video from the library.
• Following the prompts.
