The Dock in OS X is like the taskbar in Windows. It is displayed at the bottom of the screen and there are shortcuts to applications pinned on it.

The dock has Finder and an assortment of application shortcuts by default. It is customizable and also is able to have folders.

To Add Dock Shortcuts

1. Select a folder or application icon from Finder.

2. Click and drag the desired folder or application to the desired location on top of the Dock.

  • A shortcut should have been created. If it is a folder, it should be dragged to the right side of the dock.

To Delete Dock Shortcuts

1.Have the chosen folder or application in mind.

2.Click and drag the folder or application to the desktop.

  • The shortcut should have disappeared. Your application will not be deleted, just the shortcut on the dock.
