Project Details

This is a film music class for non-music majors. The assignment is to create an original 2 – 3 minute PowerPoint slideshow with music, but students will also have the option of putting music to a short video (again, 2-3 minutes). PowerPoint is the simplest option, but students may want to use the software already on their laptops (such as GarageBand and iMovie for MacBook users) to create these “music videos.”

• Would like DLC STAR there at the beginning of the class
• Both Mac and PC students
• Students will probably get the audio from their own music collections (digital music from CDs or MP3 files)
• Will possibly use GarageBand and Audacity
• The music will play over the entire “video/slideshow,” similar to the music heard a scene from a film.
  • Can use PowerPoint or iMovie
    • We used PowerPoint for this project
