WSU offers all instructors and students access to Turnitin similarity scanning services through D2L Brightspace. Instructors can enable Turnitin on individual assignment folders in their Brightspace courses such that students' work is compared with existing online content upon submission. A score is generated for that assignment indicating the proportion of the work, from 0 to 100%, flagged by Turnitin as similar to existing material. A report lists all flagged elements and links to existing content. The report also includes automated feedback on grammar, spelling, and other features of writing proficiency as well as instructor feedback provided through Turnitin's interface. Instructors can configure Turnitin to align with assignment requirements. Turnitin supplements, but does not replace the features available in the Brightspace Assignments tool.

Turnitin license

WSU licenses Turnitin's Originality product for campuswide use. This includes access to Turnitin Similarity
