Tablet Applications for Nursing

WSU's College of Nursing investigated many tablet applications and have found a set of apps that address many programmatic needs. The following table recaps the applications that were found to be valuable.

CDC	Health & Fitness	The CDC Mobile application features important health articles, disease of the week, popular journals, timely updates, and access to social media.
Dropbox	Productivity	Dropbox lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Access any file you save to your Dropbox from all your computers, iPhone, iPad and even the Dropbox website!
Eponyms	Medical	Eponyms brings a short description of more than 1700 common and obscure medical eponyms (e.g., Rovsing's sign, Virchow's node) to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Evernote	Productivity	Evernote is an easy-to-use, free app that helps you remember everything across all of the devices you use. Stay organized, save your ideas and improve productivity. Evernote lets you take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, record voice reminders.
Inspiration Maps VPP	Education	Use Inspiration Maps to help brainstorm, plan, organize and build thinking skills. Watch as students engage, create and learn as they build and organize their diagrams.
Mayo Clinic MML	Medical	Use the test catalog application to search and browse tests performed by Mayo Medical Laboratories. Test information includes clinical use and interpretation, specimen requirements, methodology, and coding.

Medscape	Medical	Medscape from WebMD (medscape.com) is the leading medical resource most used by physicians, medical students, nurses and other healthcare professionals for clinical information.
Micromedex Drug Info	Medical	Drug Information contains the industry’s most comprehensive drug information. From anywhere, clinical care teams can instantly get information to support confident treatment decisions.
