About this article
This article is provides an overview of the four categories of academic tools on campus. It is intended for the entire campus community.
Categories
Core
This includes all tools and systems used by all students and faculty, across all colleges, majors, programs. Examples include Microsoft Word and Desire2Learn.
Professional
This includes all tools and systems used by a significant proportion of students and faculty across multiple colleges, majors, and programs. Examples include Adobe Photoshop and IBM SPSS.
Discipline
This includes all tools and systems used by students and faculty in a specific college, major, or program across multiple courses. Examples include Hyperchem and Microsoft Project.
