Although you will likely be prompted automatically whenever a Zoom update is available, you can update your Zoom application manually at any time. It is critical that you install updates to ensure you have the latest security patches and bug fixes, as well as new and enhanced features.

Check for updates

On your computer

  1. Open the Zoom application on your computer. If you don't have it set as a shortcut on your desktop or taskbar (PC) or dock (Mac), select the Start button in your taskbar and start typing "Zoom" on your PC or find it in the Applications folder on your Mac. Launch the application.
  2. If you have never signed in to the Zoom application before: Select Sign In, then Sign in with SSO. Enter minnstate as the domain and proceed to sign in with your StarID credentials. Select Open Zoom if prompted. You will then return to the Zoom application window.
  3. Select your avatar icon in the upper right corner of the Zoom client window (Fig 1.1).
  4. Select Check for Updates from the menu. Install any updates.

On your phone or tablet

The Zoom mobile app will update based on the download settings you have enabled on your device. Automatic download of Zoom app updates is recommended. Also, please take this opportunity to sign in to the Zoom app using your StatID credentials if you haven't already. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the Zoom app on your mobile device.
  2. Select Sign In
  3. Select SSO.
  4. Enter minnstate as the domain.
  5. Proceed to sign in with your StarID credentials.
