The iPad home screens and dock can be customized to your needs.
To rearrange icons press and hold any app until all the apps begin to shake. Once the apps are shaking you can move apps to new pages, move apps to and from the dock, create folders by dragging apps on top of each other, and delete apps by pressing the small white "x" in the top left corner of the app.
Be aware that the dock can only hold a maximum of six apps.
Press the home button to exit customization mode.
Resetting the Home Screen
To reset the home screen to it's original layout and original background: open Settings. Go to General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
