Project Details

This resource is designed to introduce students in Professor Xu's course to many of the tools professionals used to present in professional settings. The primary tool we will focus on is called Microsoft PowerPoint. This tool also allows you to integrate text, media, and graphics all in one space to present your ideas in a clear and efficient way with many different contexts and delivery methods.

Using LinkedIn Learning Courses

We have created a list of LinkedIn Learning courses to help you use these many tools. If you are new to LinkedIn you will need to create an account. All WSU employees and students can create a LinkedIn Learning account, but the steps vary depending on where you are located The following article walks you through the process of creating your account from any location. The article Activating my LinkedIn Learning Account also has many more resources for you to check out if you are having problems with your account or need just need help.

LinkedIn Learning Training

The following sub-sections are curated content from several LinkedIn Learning courses.

Adding and Managing Slides

Slides are the pages of your presentation that you share with your audience. Working with Slides videos from basic to advanced are found in the video Add, Remove, and Rearrange Slides.

Adding Images and Shapes

Adding images and shapes is one of the key features of PowerPoint that is an important process we often move over too quickly. In the following videos, you will find the Adding Images and Shapes Chapter from LinkedIn Learning. If you want to go to the Morph tool directly go to the video here.

Adding Multimedia to PowerPoint

Adding video and audio is an excellent way to bring different types of media into your presentation. Here is the link (see here) to Add and Format your video and audio content.

Adding Speakers Notes

In a presentation, you may want to have notes for your presentation so you can have precise notes so you don't forget what you wanted to say. In this video, you will learn all about this feature (see Adding Speakers Notes).
