Snagit 11 for PC
About this article
This article includes instructions for downloading, installing, and configuring TechSmith Snagit 11 for PC. It is intended for instructors.
What's Snagit?
TechSmith's Snagit is a software application that gets installed on your laptop and allows you to capture and edit screenshots from your laptop screen and record your screen activity, saving it in the form of a video. Your movies include all mouse movements, pen and key strokes, any software application activity, and even web browsing activity. You can also choose to record audio from both system output (i.e., what's coming out of your speakers) and microphone input (e.g., your narration of a PowerPoint slide show). Snagit differs from TechSmith's Camtasia Studio in that it lacks video editing capability. Snagit videos are typically used as is and the tool offers a quick and easy way to record screen activity when post-production is not a high priority. Camtasia lacks Snagit's screenshot editing features, which are very useful when you don't need a video and an annotated screenshot will do. TechSmith offers both PC and Mac versions of Snagit. This article focuses on the latest PC version.
TLT support

Give TLT a call (x5240 Option 3), send an email to tlt@winona.edu, or drop in to the Maxwell 130 Professional Resource Center during normal business hours.
