Microsoft meetings in your class

You can create meetings in Microsoft Teams from inside your Brightspace course and insert the links directly into the course content. The meeting is created in the same HTML editor you use to define the content of the page that will ultimately hold the meeting link.

Meeting creation is available anywhere you can access the Brightspace HTML editor, so you can add meeting links to content pages, discussion topics, assignment definitions, quizzes, and announcements.

Creating a meeting

  1. To create a meeting link in your Brightspace course, begin by going to the desired tool. You can add meeting links into Content, Announcements, Discussions, Quizzes, and Assignments.

  2. Click the Insert Quicklinks icon in the HTML Editor. (See Fig 1 at right.)
  3. You will be presented with an alphabetical list of Brightspace tools followed by a second alphabetic list of third-party integrations. Find MS Teams Meeting in that second list and click on it.
  4. If required, sign into Microsoft Teams with your regular Microsoft credentials. If you are presented with a box that contains cartoon people and says Welcome to Microsoft Teams meeting, you need to log in. To get to the Sign In button, scroll the shaded area within the Insert Quicklinks dialog box. The button is at the bottom.
  5. Once you are signed in, click the Create meeting link button. If you do not see the button, scroll only the shaded are of the Insert Quicklinks dialog box.
  6. Fill in the name of the meeting, the start time, and the end time. Click Create.
  7. Click Insert.

The meeting link will be inserted into the editor window.
